When a bee stings, it injects venom into the skin. This causes pain, swelling, and redness at the sting site. After stinging, the bee dies because its stinger is left behind in the skin. If you’re allergic to bee stings, it’s important to carry an epinephrine injector (EpiPen) and seek immediate medical attention if stung.
